Newly hired production employees may be responsiblefor setting up, repairing, operating and supplying equipment to assemble ignition products and components in our Burlington,Iowa facility. The ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential to your success at Tenneco..

Candidates will be available for all shifts including a weekend shift. Mandatory overtime is required. Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED are required. Manufacturing or mechanical related experience or two years of post-high school technical education is preferred. A pre-employment physical and drug-screen are required. The Burlington Tenneco property and facility are smoke free and tobacco free. Please do not call the local Tenneco - Powertrain facility.

Wages:

There is a 6 month progression for wages.For all newly hired associates the wage rate will follow a progression schedule as follows:

0 - 6 months: 90% of top wage for the job

After 6 months: 100%

$1000 new hire bonus - paid $250 each 3 months with the team.

Top rate for the Machine Operator / Machine Technician position: Approximately $21.00

Additionally, those assigned to 2nd shift are eligible for a $0.65/hour shift premium, those assigned to 3rd shift are eligible for a $0.65/hour shift premium, and those assigned to a weekend shift are eligible for a higher rate of pay per hour.
