Overview

E2 is looking for a Pipeline Engineer with experience in natural gas and related facilities for natural gas pipelines. They will be preparing engineering designs, specifications, studies, cost estimates, and the development of sound technical recommendations. In addition, they will coordinate and direct the development of work scope, budget, and schedules for projects and tasks. The Pipeline Engineer will also coordinates input from, and participation with, various departments within the Company as needed to meet project objectives.

Responsibilities
    Support in design, evaluate and implement efficient pipeline engineering projects to improve safety, reliability and efficiency of operations in various geographical areas throughout Southern California.
  • Support with clients and various project stakeholders to identify project needs, develop project scoping documents, and support project execution.
  • Assist in developing pipeline engineering designs including process diagrams, plans, profiles, details, material/equipment specifications, bill of materials, and exhibits.
  • Detailed Engineering including calculations, hydrostatic testing plans, design basis documents, project execution plans, and sizing and selection of equipment.
  • Review of Client and/or vendor documents, specifications, datasheets, and verification of FEED design and calculations.
  • Participate in interactive planning sessions to establish, cost control and scheduling for assigned projects.
  • Prepare and maintain project budget and schedules including cost and schedule tracking reports.
  • Perform Quality Assurance/Quality Control on all deliverables.
  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with project team members and clients, with a commitment to building enduring relationships leading to customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Preparation and issuance of RFQ's, evaluation of vendor's quotations, clarifications, and technical bid analysis.
  • Review of vendor's documents, drawings, datasheets, specifications and calculations.
  • Coordinate with survey, land, environmental and other project stakeholders as necessary for detailed engineering design.
  • Prepare proposals, scoping documents, cost/schedule estimates for all new projects.
  • Prepare and negotiate change orders with client as needed.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultations to other project teams for the evaluation of, and resolution to, engineering problems and designs involving various engineering disciplines.
  • Lead and collaborate effectively with teams to effectively execute projects
  • Coordinate with design team to create pipeline design deliverables
  • Manage and Coordinate with sub-contractors to obtain survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition.
  • Provide direction to contractors, consultants, Company engineers, technical specialists and all other project team members as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate all activities leading to the completion of all tasks/activities and overall project success.
  • Train, develop and mentor engineering team including developing training materials.
  • Solve difficult engineering problems that may require adaption and/or modification of standard approaches, techniques procedures and criteria.
Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or similar field is required.
  • 5+ years experience in gas utilities and/or gas processing design engineering.
  • Technical knowledge and experience in pipeline engineering and design and understanding of applicable regulations and standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in consulting (or EPC with Design & Engineering capability) is preferred.
  • Experience working with utilities in the State of California is preferred.
  • Experience working in a remote (virtual) environment preferred.
  • Field Engineering/Construction experience preferred.
  • California Professional Engineering license is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred.
  • Familiarity and knowledge of API, ASME and ANSI standards is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word is required.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Local candidates are preferred.
  • Ability to travel as dictated by project requirements including site visits and in person meetings.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record is required.
