Description

Cydecor's additional operational offices across the US provide us the reach and ability to quickly adapt to all emerging customer needs. In line with this mission, Cydecor is working to deliver a minimum viable product (MVP) prototype data transport solution for the United States Air Force (USAF). This position supports deployment of COTS, GOTS, and Open-Source solutions in a cloud environment utilizing DevSecOps and Agile. This is a fast-paced, software delivery requirement working with multiple integrators, Capability Providers (CPs)and Agile teams located across the Contiguous US (CONUS).

Cydecor is actively looking for Software Developers to support development of mission critical solutions related to low latency data transport and storage. As a member of the agile software development team, the successful candidate will work on one or many of following areas:

  • Creation and continuous iteration of microservice APIs;
  • Development of data transport status dashboards
  • Development of data storage services; implementing data transport and storage security.
  • Zero Trust Architecture implementation; and/or data transport across domains.

Successful candidates will have a desire to work in any, or all, of these areas as a member of the agile project team.

The ideal candidate has strong experience working in a cloud environment with a working knowledge of Postgres, Kafka, and Kubernetes. The ideal candidate is familiar with the Agile software development lifecycle from user requirement generation to automated tests and deployment.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop and deliver leading-edge secure software applications to enable the mission
  • Collaborate with the Government Product Owner and support grooming of user stories, breakdown of development tasks and estimation of effort
  • Employ a test-first development approach and code unit and integration tests to mitigate defect risks
  • Design overall application architecture involving microservices, APIs
  • Employ best-of-breed microservices and event-driven architecture using frameworks like Kafka
  • Build reusability in day-to-day development and maintain library of reusable components and services
  • Collaborate with Program Integrator team and other Capability Providers (CPs) to achieve disciplined adoption of modern software development practices like CI/CD
  • Troubleshoot defect issues, deduce root cause, and implement mechanisms to prevent reoccurrence and mitigate offshoot issues
  • Efficiently divide and conquer software development tasks with application developers
  • Actively seek ways to improve business software processes and interactions

Education/Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent from an accredited university. (Equivalent years' experience performing required tasks can be substituted for degree requirements)
  • At least 7 years of experience developing distributed software applications using current/leading-edge and open source technologies/frameworks
  • Experience working with Kafka and Kubernetes
  • Experience with and full understanding of HTTP and HTTPS protocols, RESTful APIs

Preferred:

  • Experience in transactional logic in relational data stores (SQL, JDBC, etc.)
  • Experience with non-relational data stores and indexers (caching, Mongo, Elastic, etc.)
  • Experience with GraphQL
  • Experience with PostgresSQL
  • Top Secret Clearance (with SCI eligibility)

Geography: Work will be performed at Cydecor approved work site as part of a diverse team of developers at multiple CONUS locations
