Linxx Global Solutions, LLC. (Linxx) is currently seeking experienced Terrorist Crime Scene Investigation (TCSI) Instructors to fill Independent Contractor training positions in support of the Global Anti-terrorism Assistance II (ATA) program.  Applicants must have a training background and be willing to travel, both domestically and abroad, for short-term assignments. 

This position is not at a specific location.

TCSI Course Description
This two-week course provides twenty-four law enforcement personnel with the skills required to document, collect, and preserve evidence using crime scene procedures that meet international forensics standards. The training utilizes lecture, demonstration, group discussion, and practical exercises to develop or enhance the skills required for competent crime scene investigation to include terrorism-related incidents. Training focuses on preparation and initial actions when responding to a crime scene; scene management and narrative description; crime scene approach, survey, and planning; physical evidence searches, evaluation, prioritization, documentation and collection; photographing, note taking and sketching; and, conducting a final survey prior to release of the scene. Participants will demonstrate their mastery of these skills in a final course exercise where they will work as teams to process mock terrorism crime scenes.

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for conducting classroom instruction, presentations, and exercises in accordance with the guidelines and directives set forth by the Department of State Diplomatic Security Office of Antiterrorism Assistance (DS/T/ATA). Facilitators must be willing to travel to developing countries and U.S. training sites to perform duties;
  • Responsible for ensuring only current DS/T/ATA approved training materials (lesson plans, participant handouts, videos, case studies, etc.) are used in the delivery of DS/T/ATA courses;
  • Liaise with the DS/T/ATA Training Delivery Coordinator (TDC) on all aspects of training and accept and follow any specific instruction provided by that DS/T/ATA TDC;
  • Coordinate classroom preparation;
  • Administer Pre/Post Course Knowledge Surveys utilizing DS/T/ATA;
  • Administer Course Participant Skills Evaluations (when appropriate) utilizing DS/T/ATA approved format;
  • Administer Course Critiques utilizing DS/T/ATA approved format;
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operational activities as reflected in the program of instruction;
  • Responsible for validating, justifying, and reporting any deviations from the program of instruction;
  • Interact professionally outside of normal training hours with course participants and training venue officials when appropriate and approved by ATA.

 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. One (1) year of professional work experience may be substituted for one (1) year of education.
  • Experience managing and processing the collection of evidence at crime scenes as a sworn or non-sworn law enforcement officer for federal, military, state, or local law enforcement for a minimum 5 years.
  • Experience instructing crime scene investigation courses in an adult education program, college, or law enforcement training program.
  • Completion of advanced training in the collection of evidence from a crime scene by a recognized federal, military, state, or local law enforcement training provider.
  • Successful annual medical screening.
  • Successful completion of the ATA instructor skills course.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
  • Professional appearance
