We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Finance department. This position specifically islocated in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for a Senior Compliance Auditor.

  1. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PURPOSE (Job Description)

Maintain NASSCO compliance with Company policy and procedure, Federal contracting regulations and generally accepted accounting practice. The Sr Compliance Auditor will provide support for NASSCO compliance reviews, Sarbanes Oxley activities, Defense Contract Audit Agency audits, special studies and other activities as required.

  1. POSITION DEMANDS (Education/Training)

Typically has a bachelor's degree in accounting or business related field and 5 to 10 years of Audit or related work experience. Knowledge of Federal contracting regulations (FAR, DFAR and CAS) is beneficial. Certifications (CPA, CIA, CFE) are preferred. Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of NASSCO management and employees as well as Government representatives. The position requires ability to coordinate a variety of projects at the same time, while ensuring deadlines and goals are met. Reliance to protect employee highly sensitive data and information.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects or controls, and to talk and hear. The noise level is this environment is usually moderate.

  1. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Compliance Auditor will interface with NASSCO personnel, GD Internal Audit, and Government representatives in support of NASSCO compliance reviews, government audits contract closeouts and other activities. Development of strong interpersonal and project management skills will lead to the successful completion of all responsibilities. With some supervision, the auditor will be expected to work independently and manage time effectively.

  1. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs NASSCO compliance reviews to: determine if NASSCO is in compliance with current policy, determine if current policies and procedures are adequate and identify areas of risk.
  • Performs evaluation of internal controls
  • Prepares audit work papers, schedules, and reports.
  • Manages and maintains Sarbanes Oxley requirements
  • Supports internal audit requests
  • Performs monthly overhead reviews for compliance with government regulations.
  • Provides support for the preparation of the annual incurred cost submission.
  • Performs evaluation of company compliance with Cost Accounting Standards and related regulatory requirements.
  • Supports the audits of incurred cost submissions, forward pricing rates, bids and proposals price, and all other financial-related FAR requirements.
  • Supports requests for information from government representatives in connection with DCAA audits.
  • Maintains current documentation of processes in areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned

Provide support for NASSCO compliance reviews, Sarbanes Oxley activities, Defense Contract Audit Agency audits, special studies and other activities as requested.

Regular, reliable attendance on-site is an essential function of the job. Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of NASSCO management and employees as well as Government representatives. The position requires ability to coordinate a variety of projects at the same time, ensuring deadlines and goals are met. A credit check will be required for this position.
