Job Purpose:

The IT Infrastructure and Communications Specialist provides support for plant IT systems and end users. This position also provides first-level support for other locations including Northbrook, Avon, Markham, Montreal and Sao Paulo, and helpdesk coverage for all sites as needed. This position will also support IT infrastructure projects and will collaborate with global IT on global initiatives as needed. Other support activities will include software deployment, troubleshooting, network, and phone support, as well as training the plant users and ensuring compliance with IT policies and standards.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide IT support to users in the Ames, IA plant, including hardware, software, network, and application issues.
  • Support IT projects and initiatives, such as system upgrades, migrations, and installations.
  • Provide coverage for helpdesk as needed for all Barilla Region Americas sites in the USA, Canada, and Brazil.
  • Support international and remote sites by working with designated contacts.
  • Maintain accurate equipment inventories by following proper processes when deploying, retrieving, or retiring equipment.
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and help resolve issues as they arise.
  • Provide IT support and training to the plant users on how to use the IT equipment and applications effectively and efficiently.
  • Successfully complete IT projects that align with the business strategy and global IT guidelines.
  • Collaborate with global IT on global initiatives, while meeting initiative deadlines.
  • Follow all other processes and procedures as defined by the local/Global IT departments and company policy.
  • Some travel domestically and internationally required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Information:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, other technical fieldor specialized training / equivalent work experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to ensure end user satisfaction
  • At least 1 year experience delivering small to mid-sized infrastructure projects.
  • At least 1 year experience providing helpdesk support to users for PCs, networks, and servers.
  • At least 1 year experience providing remote support via telephone, or remote desktop technology.
  • At least 1 year experience with Windows 10 or 11 and MS office including Outlook.
  • Experience with cloud, such as Azure or AWS a plus
  • Experience supporting a data center in a virtual environment a plus.
  • Experience working in a global environment is a plus
  • Experience with network implementation and setup. Cisco experience or CCNA a plus.
  • Experience with SCCM and software distribution is a plus.
  • Travel: 25%
