EHS&S Manager
Suffolk, VA
Job Description
Responsible for plant environmental, health, safety, and security (EHS&S) performance. Ensure facility is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Solenis policies and procedures.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Drive continued compliance with all national and local regulations and Solenis policies and procedures.
- Lead the overall safety and environmental culture at the site and drive for continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain sound working relationships with all site personnel.
- Lead and be a driving force for all EH&S programs at the site.
- Maintain RC14001 compliance.
- Maintain VPP Star and VEEP status.
- Engage and interact with outside regulatory agencies for permitting and compliance purposes.
- Execute the safety and environmental vision for the site and drive to a zero-incident culture.
- Implement programs with all site personnel and site contractors to drive compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
- Lead positive change toward environmental performance.
- Identify all applicable safety and health regulations and their impacts on the site and provide training to affected site personnel.
- Manage plant EHS Budget and drive cost reductions as identified.
Education:
- BS Engineering or Science or EHS related.
- Strong familiarity of national and local EHS regulations
Experience:
- 5-10 years EHS experience at plant level
Competencies:
- Strong communication, computer, leadership, and decision-making skills, willingness to learn, flexibility to adjust to changing situations, good organization skills with the ability to handle a variety of things simultaneously, and the willingness to take acceptable risks and be held accountable.
