Sentara Health is recruiting an Associate General Counsel to work in Virginia!

The Associate General Counsel will provide general legal services, representation, and counsel to Sentara Health on various health care and health care regulatory matters. The Associate General Counsel will have experience working in highly matrixed organizations, strong analytical ability, outstanding negotiation and communication skills, with sharp attention to detail.
The Associate General Counsel will possess:
* Experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, including technology agreements, licensing agreements, SaaS contracts, hardware and software purchasing agreements.
* Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating educational affiliation agreements.
* Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating institutional research related agreements including memoranda of understanding, IRB authorization agreements, individual investigator agreements and site research agreements.
* Experience drafting, advising and negotiating contract terms relative to data privacy and data security issues.
* Experience conducting regulatory research and analysis.
* Experience advising business teams on compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including HIPAA, Stark, and AKS.

Professional Experience & Qualifications:
* Minimum of four (4) years of legal experience, preferably at a law firm or a corporate in-house legal department with specific focus on general corporate matters, technology, data privacy and data security agreements.
* Graduation from an accredited law school with a Juris Doctor degree, with an unrestricted license to practice law in one or more jurisdictions in the United States. Candidates must be eligible for admission to the Virginia State Bar.
