Description

Position Summary: Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of routine mail processing and supply duties working from detailed instructions and using standard practices and procedures.

Essential Functions:

  • Processes all outgoing mail and operates postage machine
  • Collects and distributes incoming and interoffice mail and packages/boxes.
  • Fills supply requisitions and assists with the physical inventory of all expendable supplies.
  • Moves boxes and runs errands as needed.
  • Delivers misc. items as needed (mail tubs to trust, large boxes, supplies, etc.)
  • Delivers exception mail items to the City of Hampton Treasurer's Office.
  • Assist Maintenance Support when needed.
  • Assists in moving furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Assists in maintaining document retention boxes, and verifies boxes are correctly destroyed.
  • Prepares bi-weekly janitorial supply count for the campus.
  • Maintains all supplies for HQ's 4th Floor Cage. Replenishes all floors as needed bi-weekly.
  • Performs all work in compliance with applicable regulations/policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements (Knowledge/Skills/Abilities):

  • Ability to operate mail processing machine and all other standard mail processing equipment
  • Ability to read and perform basic mathematical functions
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to maintain schedules and meet deadlines
  • Ability to transport up to 50+ pounds
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Must possess a valid Virginia Driver's License and an acceptable driving record.

Education/Experience:

  • High School graduate or GED
