Compensation Range:

$80,302.00 - $128,500.00 / Year

Expectations:

The Development Officer is an essential member of the hospital's advancement team and will work collaboratively with Office of Philanthropy staff in support of strategic fundraising efforts. The incumbent will identify, cultivate, solicit and steward donors and prospects with emphasis on acquiring major gifts. The Development Officer will manage a portfolio of 100-150 mid-level prospects, with a focus on discovery and donor engagement. This position requires flexibility of hours, including some evenings and weekends.

Hybrid work location (on-site and remote)


EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in fundraising, marketing, communications, or related field.

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum of 3 - 5 years of fundraising experience in a not-for-profit setting required.
Experience with Blackbaud software a plus; ability to learn and become proficient with this software will be required.


SKILLS:

  • The incumbent will have highly developed written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of basic fundraising principles.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, and ability to confidently interact with individuals at all levels.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Efficient while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Organized, systematic and able to prioritize, schedule and perform complex tasks on time and with minimal supervision.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality; demonstrate sound judgement and discretion.
  • Ability to liaise with other departments to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
